What you’ll need to succeed
To become a teacher of plumbing and heating, you\’ll need a combination of technical and teaching skills. Here are some key skills that would be beneficial:
• NVQ Level 3 in plumbing and heating
• City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical installations
• 5–10 years of plumbing and heating experience
• 5–10 years electrical installation experience
If you do not hold a level 4 or equivalent teaching qualification, you will have the opportunity to obtain this within 5 years from the appointment date, which will be funded by the college.

(This sum is over and above the annual salary offered).
This cost can be used towards costs that you might incur, such as:
- A flight for you to the UK to take up the job offered
- Support for your first month’s accommodation or deposit for rented property
- Professional relocation, packing and shipping of your possessions
- Airport transfers on arrival in the UK
- NHS access costs
- Visa costs
(Please note that reimbursement of the above costs, up to a maximum of £2000, is conditional on the provision of receipts to evidence costs incurred)
Additionally, HR services will be available to support your relocation, including providing information on the local area, accommodation and schools and answering your questions. Sponsorship is also available.
