Position: Mechanical Reliability Engineer – Hampshire

Employment Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

Location: This role will involve 2/3 days WFH and 2/3 days traveling to different Hampshire sites or at an office in the Hampshire area.

We are recruiting a Mechanical Reliability Engineer based in Hampshire. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies to ensure high standards of asset maintenance, aiming to increase reliability and reduce downtime.

The role focuses on expanding the team\’s capabilities in delivering strategies within Wastewater, shifting from reactive to planned maintenance, and establishing a reliability-centered maintenance approach during our AMP 8 investment period.

The Mechanical Reliability Engineer will design and execute RCM strategies to maintain assets cost-effectively, ensuring reliability and compliance with legislative and environmental standards.

The role involves monitoring maintenance strategies through asset performance data, reviews, surveillance, and KPI trending to optimize asset uptime and efficiency.

Responsibilities include conducting reliability studies such as FMECA and RCA assessments to improve asset performance, applying industry standards, and maintaining detailed documentation of strategies, procedures, and analyses.

To succeed, candidates should have:

  • Strong technical skills and a mechanical engineering background or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical assets like motors, pumps, gearboxes, blowers, compressors, generators, etc.
  • Experience in asset analysis, operation, and maintenance
