Job Description:

We are seeking a Deepwater Subsurface Manager to lead a multi-well exploration and appraisal drilling campaign in 2026, followed by immediate development. The role requires strong leadership to manage multidisciplinary teams, collaborate across departments, and ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
This is a multi-year position based in Gurgaon, India.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all subsurface elements related to exploration, appraisal, and development of deepwater projects.
- Lead exploration campaigns to maximize success and resource characterization.
- Pre-plan alternative scenarios for exploration prospects for timely FID decisions post-2026 drilling.
- Oversee reservoir modeling and simulation, integrating geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data.
- Coordinate development planning, including well placement, drilling schedules, and resource allocation.
- Lead a team of geoscientists and engineers, engaging third-party consultants as needed.
- Provide updates to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years of oil and gas experience with extensive (>10 years) deepwater field appraisal and development experience.
- Experience with various deepwater depositional environments, including gas and liquid-rich gas, across multiple countries.
- Reservoir Engineer or Geoscientist background, with at least a Bachelor\’s degree; higher degrees or certifications are preferred.
- Proven experience leading subsurface teams in deepwater gas discoveries.
- Strong collaboration skills with other development groups.
- Project management experience, including managing large-scale projects from conception to completion.
- Experience as an interface manager with clients and third-party contractors is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently with limited oversight.
