Role Profile

Are you a dynamic leader with a strong focus on people development and training? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Cast UK is supporting a proud family business in their recruitment of a Warehouse Operations & Development Manager. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will support primarily in developing the team and improving performance against KPIs. The role is Monday to Friday, typical day shift hours, with some flexibility required in line with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Warehouse Supervisors & Team Leaders, providing guidance and feedback, especially on HR/people queries
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring efficient workflow within the warehouse
  • Optimize team productivity and achieve targets
  • Implement Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs
  • Assess and implement training requirements to upskill staff, particularly Supervisors/Team Leaders
  • Conduct training sessions on safety and operational procedures
  • Create KPIs to monitor performance and improve efficiency
  • Implement performance appraisal processes for team development
  • Drive health & safety focus across the site, implementing corrective actions for non-conformance

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in people development, especially training Supervisors/Team Leaders on HR activities like appraisals and RTW
  • Proven experience in a warehouse environment
  • Data-driven approach using tech and MI to monitor progress and influence decisions
  • System experience, particularly with WMS systems like Jungheinrich WMS
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience managing change
