Job – Excavator Operator
Boyd Recruitment are currently recruiting an experienced Excavator operator for a full time position based in the central belt of Scotland.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • To promote, develop and maintain a positive Companywide health, safety and environmental culture
  • Stop and report any situation that you deem to be a danger to yourself or others. Report immediately any hazardous conditions to those responsible and keep records of all such inspections and hazards.
  • Driving responsibilities regarding safety and following the Highway Code.
  • Be an excellent ambassador and do not bring the company into disrepute by poor behaviour or being a discourteous driver.
  • Comply with any Legal Requirements, including Drivers’ Hours, recording of work, and driving in the logbook, and Working Time regulations.
  • Check the vehicle is safe, legal, and roadworthy before it is driven.
  • Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded.
  • Carry out a walkaround check before the vehicle is used, record any findings and submit a report, including a ‘Nil’ defect if defects are not found.
  • Complete any forms or other documentation issued by your employer. This includes permissions to access certain personal data required for safe operation, including access to online driver licence checks.
  • Do not drive if feeling unwell or fatigued.
  • Participate in training provided.
  • Participate in eyesight checks or tests and medicals
  • Develop skills and knowledge to ensure safe, legal, and efficient driving.
  • Reporting directly to your supervisor, you must be goal orientated, a team player and determined to succeed in all aspects of the OHL work
  • Take responsibility for daily work tasks, as instructed by your supervisor.
  • Take part in team briefs and tool box talks.
  • Adhere to the safety rules as set out by the Company and its Client.
  • Have an ongoing determination to complete the work on time and to the specified requirements.
  • You will take proper care of all tools/equipment/PPE and vehicles supplied to you by the company and report any defects found.
  • Ensuring that all appropriate PPE is available and used;
  • Communicating effectively with the operations team and representing the company in a professional manner;
  • Complete a Pre and Post operation vehicle check;

Qualifications:

  • CSCS or equivalent (Desirable)
  • NPORS or CPCS Excavator 360 (essential)

Operator will have a min of 5 years experience and be able to provide 2 references
