Job Description:
Location: Rotherham, Yorkshire
Main Purpose of the Role
The HSE manager will work with managers to determine safe working practices, ensuring that all departments have suitable and sufficient risk assessments for their operations and activities, offering expert knowledge and skills along with a hands on approach to implementation of improvements.They will generate and promote a positive health, safety & Environmental culture. They will ensure that all HS&E legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted. They will review the policies, procedures and measures that we as a business follow, and work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries.
Key Objectives and Duties
- To ensure that the Company is adhering to all the relevant HS&E legislation
- To co-ordinate and assist the Management Team, where required
- To conduct regular Risk Assessments, PUWER assessments, COSHH Assessments and Internal audits
- Provide effective communications between all relevant departments to promote best HS&E practices
- To co-ordinate accident investigation, record and graph all accident data and to use the data to promote a no accident environment and culture
- To work closely with Production and Project Engineers to implement safety improvement opportunities whenever possible, utilizing the Management of Change Process
- Ensure that Safe Systems of Work are developed, Permits to Work are issued and Contractors to site are controlled as necessary
- Instigate regular Committee Meetings and ensure items discussed are agreed and actioned
- Ensure adequate First-Aid provisions are made and accident investigation/recording and reporting requirements are met
- Ensure Emergency Plans and Evacuations are developed and practiced
- Ensure the safety of visitors, contractors and members of the public
- General Health and Safety Administration
