Ageas has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pricing Analyst to join the Strategic Pricing Team. Ageas is improving its pricing sophistication, performance management, and technical capabilities to compete effectively in the home insurance market. You will be at the forefront of delivering this strategy, supporting performance monitoring and contributing to the profitable development of Ageas’s Household portfolio through pricing control.
The Senior Pricing Analyst will analyze data using advanced actuarial and statistical techniques to inform pricing decisions that increase volume, income, and profit. Your work will directly impact the company\’s profitability and growth, focusing on increasing conversion, retention, and achieving target loss ratios.
Main Responsibilities as Senior Pricing Analyst – Market:
- Develop and mentor Pricing Analysts.
- Develop, validate, review, and approve predictive machine learning models, exploring new techniques for better predictability.
- Provide accurate datasets for modeling, pricing, and monitoring, exploring new data sources to enhance models.
- Maintain and deploy pricing models.
- Perform price optimization and process improvements, preparing recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Update rates in the live rating engine.
- Model customer and market behavior, integrating machine learning into behavioral models.
- Combine MI, modeling results, and company targets to assess pricing performance.
- Coordinate pricing decisions across teams and decision bodies.
- Manage projects across all stages of the pricing cycle.
- Advise senior management and peers in the Pricing and Underwriting department.
- Act as deputy for senior colleagues when needed.
Required Competencies:
- Degree or equivalent in a numerical discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience in insurance pricing or related analytics.
- Proficiency with programming languages (e.g., SAS) for data manipulation.
- Experience with predictive modeling techniques such as Logistic Regression, GLMs, GBMs, Decision Trees, Neural Nets, etc.
- Skills in programming languages like R, Matlab, Python, or Octave.
- Knowledge of Price Optimization.
- Ability to use analytics to solve complex problems.
- Experience influencing colleagues at all levels, including senior management.
- Ability to communicate complex statistical concepts clearly.
- Self-motivated with initiative and drive.
