Summary Description: Under the direction of the school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. Creates an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students to ensure success for every student. Supervises students in various settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, and communicates effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community. Develops, modifies, and implements instructional plans and materials to meet diverse student needs. Maintains records and follows procedures. Ensures proper use and care of equipment and facilities. Physical Demands: As required by job duties. Special Requirements: Must attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside instructional hours as mandated by the MCEA agreement.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, instructional techniques, policies, and effective practices. Understanding of teaching and learning processes. Ability to incorporate multiple perspectives and multicultural education into instruction. Proficiency in integrating technology. Effective collaboration with administrators, colleagues, staff, students, parents, and community. Excellent communication and human relations skills. Familiarity with MCPS Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS) and Supporting Services (SEIU) Professional Growth System (SSPGS).

Education, Training, and Experience: Bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution. Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
