We are currently recruiting for a Scientific Assistant to join the Analytical Development and Quality Control (ADQC) team. The purpose of this role is to provide essential laboratory activities and services to support the ADQC department.

Our Analytical Services Group supports product development through analytical testing to facilitate manufacturing and process development, ensuring appropriate quality controls and analytics.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • Perform routine monitoring of controlled temperature units within ASG CL2 laboratories
  • Raise engineering requests and chaperone engineers during servicing/repair of analytical instruments
  • Generate and review equipment files for basic equipment to meet GMP standards
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities
  • Calibrate the pH meter and balance as required for analytical testing
  • Operate the autoclave and dispose of waste materials as required
  • Perform stock checks of consumables, media, solutions, buffers used by Scientists
  • Assist the team to ensure the CL2 laboratory suites meet regulatory compliance
  • Raise LMT work requests and assist LMT if required
  • Assist in maintaining health and safety compliance in a CL2 laboratory

We are looking for:

  • Level 2 – GCSE English and Maths
  • Knowledge of efficient and effective laboratory working practices
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and perform basic maths
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to challenge current practices and suggest improvements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly with Scientists and Managers
  • Organizational skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to listen to instructions and follow them
  • Willingness to learn
