We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our team in our Maidenhead office. This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.
What does the role involve?
Sweco’s team of vertical transportation engineers deliver specialist advice in the field of lift and escalator designs for high profile buildings of all types. We are looking for a specialist vertical transportation engineer to join our team and develop a long term career with us in this high profile discipline.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in this specialist field on some of the most prestigious projects in the UK and around the world. Current and recent projects include:
2 Finsbury Avenue, London
One of the largest office developments currently on site in London, this is an exciting and unique project that sees us working with Danish architectural firm 3XN, with Adamson Associates (International) Ltd as executive architect to deliver an innovative lift system.
A major, high rise, twin tower residential and hotel project located on the riverside at Vauxhall in the centre of London. Working for a Chinese client alongside international architects Kohn Pederson Fox Associates, this is our client’s first development outside China and one of the highest profile projects in the country.
Google, London
Nestled in the heart of one of the world\’s most dynamic cities, the new Google HQ redefines modern workspaces with its state-of-the-art design and sustainable features.
To be successful in this role you’ll:
- Have a minimum of HND/HNC/ONC in lift engineering or an equivalent field.
- Have completed a lift industry apprenticeship (not essential but advantageous).
- Have a recognised professional qualification and membership of appropriate professional bodies (or be working towards).
- Probably (but not necessarily) be currently working for a lift supplier, ideally in a design role, or in an associated building services design environment. You will already have several years UK experience in this field.
- Be computer literate, suitably skilled in the use of CAD software (ideally in AutoDesk AutoCAD, Revit); experience of DigiPara lift design software would be a distinct advantage. You\’ll have familiarity with a broad range of vertical transportation equipment, technical specifications and current codes and standards.
- Have a good knowledge of Elevate traffic analysis software (not essential but advantageous).
- Have the ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with Clients, design teams other team members and to produce reports in clear English.
- Be a strong, clear and confident communicator who is able to project a professional image to clients and colleagues at all times. You\’ll be able to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships and be able to demonstrate pride in work through accurate, timely delivery.
