As an Apprentice ICT Service Technician, you will support employees in Stockton-on-Tees and Darlington Borough Councils, helping them use technology effectively and resolving issues to maintain productivity.

Based in Darlington Town Hall or Dunedin House, Thornaby, you will work as part of a team to deliver these services.

You will assist in providing effective, efficient, and customer-focused ICT services, working in our ICT End User Engagement Team dedicated to quality and efficiency from the outset.

Your responsibilities include maintaining ICT equipment, installing and configuring software and hardware, resolving faults, and upgrading or replacing equipment. You will also work in the ICT Service Desk Firstline Team, assisting customers with their requests and issues with a friendly, knowledgeable approach.

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum qualifications of English and Maths at Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grade 4/C or above / Functional Skills Level 2)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to the full duration of the apprenticeship — reliability, motivation, and ability to balance work and study
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills — please outline how you meet this criteria in your personal statement
