Our client is actively seeking a Mobile Combustion Engineer for the Greater London and Home Counties area. This is an outstanding opportunity to advance your career in a dynamic environment.

Job Description

The primary responsibilities of the role include :

  • Maintenance of Boiler / Combustion Services and building services equipment in designated geographic locations.
  • Efficiently execute PPM and Reactive Works issued by the Helpdesk within the Commercial Gas contract portfolio.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Report to the line manager for all actions, requirements, and contract-related matters.
  • Ensure full compliance with client Commercial Gas ISO 9001, 14001, and OSHAS 18001 protocols and procedures.
  • Adhere to Best Practices for maintenance tasks, including planned and reactive tasks, and callouts to meet client expectations.
  • Ensure Regulatory activities are carried out in compliance with One Environmental Commercial Gas Quality System and Company QMS.
  • Maintain plant and equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable operation within specified standards.
  • Oversee service delivery, complete work orders, and adhere to SLAs and Planned / Reactive Maintenance System.
  • Perform first-line diagnostics and plan required remedial work.
  • Recognize spare parts requirements and notify the Helpdesk accordingly.
  • Undertake contractual obligations on behalf of Commercial Gas.
  • Complete and submit Planned Maintenance and Reactive Work Sheets.
  • Provide solutions to engineering problems and identify new works for continual improvement.
  • Ensure workplace / task Risk, COSHH, Manual Handling, and Personal Protective Assessments are carried out.
  • Foster a culture of accident prevention and damage control.
  • Compile and submit incident or accident reports as per Commercial Gas procedures.

Candidate Requirements

  • Take reasonable care for health and safety, reporting accidents or near misses.
  • Co-operate and assist in all health and safety procedures.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Follow safe working procedures for handling, storing, and using COSHH controlled items.
  • Report any medical problems experienced during work functions.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
  • Ensure work equipment is used for its intended purpose and staff are trained to use it.
  • Do not interfere with safety equipment provided.
  • Provide a proactive approach to staff and customer relations.
  • Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks.

Qualifications

  • CCN1 – Core domestic gas safety
  • CENWAT – Central heating boilers and instantaneous hot water heaters
  • MET1 – Domestic gas meters up to 6m³
  • CPA1 – Combustion performance analysis
  • HTR1 – Domestic open, balanced & fan flue gas fires & wall heater
  • COCN1 – Core commercial gas safety or CODNCO1 – Changeover gas safety from domestic natural gas to commercial natural gas
  • ICPN1 – Installation first fix of commercial pipework
  • CIGA1 – Commission, service, repair & breakdown of commercial indirect-fired heating appliances & equipment
  • CDGA1 – Commission, service direct fired heaters
  • HWB1 – Gas fired hot water boilers 15-40kW
  • TPCP1A – Testing & direct purging of low-pressure commercial pipework not exceeding 1m³ in volume, 21mbar operating pressure
