Job Description:

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 9-year-old boy who is very affectionate and caring, I attend river Bank school in Ely. I am non –verbal and I have Autism, ADHD and a learning disability. I need support with my Personal Care and looking after myself. I am usually a happy laughing boy but can get upset at times, and unsettled as I find it hard to express my feelings but once you get to know to and understand me I am fine. My hobbies are painting, drawing, water play, and being outdoors especially walking and the park. I require two carers to look after me and keep me safe at all times.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To keep me safe at all times, and take care of me. Take me out in the community, to help me access all the things I love to do and enjoy. I do use a McLaren Buggy, which helps keep me safe and stops me from running off as I am unaware of dangers.

PLACE OF WORK

Out and about in the community

HOURS OF WORK

Two PA\’s required to work along side each other. Package is 2:1.

Relief cover is required, to cover any annual leave and sickness.

Hours could include-

Job application tracking

Term Time: 6 hours per week. This can be discussed and broken down into 2x 3 hr shifts per week, to be discussed at interview.

Holiday Time: 9 hours per week, this can be broken down into spilt hours, to be discussed at interview.

RATE OF PAY

£12.39 per hour.

Bank Holiday’s double time per hour.

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Supervising me at all times.
  • Enabling me go out for walks and to the Park
  • Ensuring that I am safe at all times.
  • Transporting me to places out in the community.
  • Personal care will also be required at all times.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Must have access to a vehicle and hold a full driving license. The use of your vehicle with be required for this role.
  • Must be reliable
  • Must be flexible
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable assisting someone who is non –verbal and has Learning Difficulties
  • Be able to get on sociably with other people.
