Cobb & Jones Recruitment are working with an exceptionally busy and strategically acquisitive company based in Mid Kent supporting them in their search for a new Finance Business Partner. Due to an internal promotion, this is a newly created role that plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of a diverse and growing group of businesses. This is more than just a reporting role its an opportunity to influence strategy, challenge assumptions, and help steer the direction of a dynamic organisation.

Job Summary

As an FP&A Analyst, youll be at the heart of financial decision-making. From building robust financial models to preparing board-level reports, your work will directly support investment decisions, strategic planning, and operational performance across a group of companies with interests in development, engineering, and manufacturing. Youll collaborate with teams across the business from operations to planning to ensure financial insights are not just accurate, but actionable.

Profile:

  • Formally Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant PQE experience in arelevant field, happy to consider QBE with significant modelling experience in a suitable industry.
  • Analytically sharp Youre confident with Excel and financial modelling, and you know how to turn complex data into clear insights.
  • Commercially aware You understand how numbers connect to business performance and strategic goals.
  • A confident communicator Whether its a board pack or a quick presentation, you can explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • Detail-oriented but big-picture minded Youre comfortable diving into the numbers but always keep the broader business context in view.
  • Industry-savvy Experience in construction or housebuilding is a bonus, but not essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Analyse financial data and KPIs to identify trends, explain variances, and support performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with departments across the business to provide financial insights and challenge assumptions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term strategy through data-driven analysis.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into cohesive financial narratives.
