Technical Author (Technical Publications)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to create and manage technical documentation for armoured land vehicles and marine vessels. You will ensure high-quality, accurate publications while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Can be Junior Technical Author if has experience with S1000D, opportunity with company includes further training and investment into it\βs workers with Permanent opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess tasks, resolve queries, and prepare robust source data.
- Author and update technical documentation to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with Tech Leads and Project Managers to meet milestones.
- Identify and address project risks promptly.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and internal processes.
- Promote a \βright-first-time\β ethos and drive process improvements.
- Work closely with Production Teams and Training Managers to enhance performance.
Requirements:
- Essential: UK nationality with DBS clearance (or no known reason for denial).
- Extensive technical authoring experience in engineering documentation.
- Either: Experience with Army Equipment Support Publications (AESP) and DefStan 601 Pt4, or S1000D XML data modules in a CSDB environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Desirable:
- Familiarity with armoured land vehicles or marine engineering systems, including complex mechanical components.
