Head of Regulatory Affairs
We are looking for a Head of Regulatory Affairs to join our team.
Drive regulatory excellence across all L\’Oréal brands and divisions in the UK and Ireland. As Head of Regulatory Affairs, you will lead the development and execution of our regulatory strategy, covering cosmetics, beauty, medical devices, and chemical regulations, in-line with the Group strategy. This role reports to the Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for UK & Ireland.
You will ensure L\’Oréal UK and Irelands\’ license to operate and innovate beauty and personal care products through regulatory excellence and regulatory compliance and advise on product and chemical regulatory matters relating to areas the L\’Oréal UK and Ireland business is concerned with.
Ensure regulatory intelligence, develop execute a local regulatory strategy in-line with the Group Regulatory strategy to ensure L\’Oréal\’s license to operate, and innovate in UK and Ireland with respect to, but not limited to cosmetics regulation, ingredients, chemicals regulation, CLP, packaging regulation as applicable in UK and EU.
Apply and contribute to the Group\’s regulatory strategy and ensure accountability of implementing regulations, particularly cosmetic and chemical regulations to maintain compliance
Lead and develop a team responsible for regulatory and compliance matters.
Lead in responding to government consultations across areas of responsibility and represent the group with authorities, regulators – playing a leading role in trade associations and forming strong relationships across the field.
Maintain regular collaboration with Group Scientific and Regulatory teams.
Contribute to advocacy strategy and provide technical recommendations across areas of responsibility
Provide risk analysis and mitigation actions on complex issues
Regular interaction and collaboration with other multi-divisional teams such as Public Affairs, Operations and Legal as well as business functions such as Sales and Marketing.
Develop and implement processes to elevate our data and digital vision
Team and/or transversal project management
Define regulatory compliance frames for new product territories
Lead or contribute to cross-disciplinary projects initiated within the scientific and regulatory network

A degree (or relevant experience in) a relevant field such as one of the Life sciences or Law
In-depth regulatory experience
Excellent knowledge of core regulatory frameworks, including cosmetics, chemicals, and how they apply in businesses.
Good knowledge of other relevant frameworks such as packaging, medical devices, sustainability is preferable.
FMCG industry experience preferable
Experience with shaping the regulatory frameworks
Excellent command of the English language and its subtleties, with the ability to articulate and express ideas and concepts fluently and persuasively both orally and in writing, particularly in simplifying complex regulatory or scientific issues.
