Trainee Electrical Estimator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Electrical Estimator to join a busy estimating team. This role offers hands–on experience and full training for someone looking to develop their career within the M&E sector.

About the Role:
You will work alongside experienced estimators, learning how to interpret technical designs, prepare costings, and compile tender documentation. A practical understanding of construction projects will be an advantage, helping you appreciate the full project lifecycle from installation and commissioning to maintenance across various sectors.

Our projects span a wide range of environments, including commercial offices, domestic properties, industrial sites, public buildings, healthcare, education, retail, and leisure, with contract values typically ranging from GBP50k to GBP2m. With the right training and support, you ll progress to managing your own tenders and estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of technical designs and costing processes.

  • Assist in preparing tender documentation and supporting information.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

  • Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Interest in the technical side of projects.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

  • Team player with the ability to work independently when required.

  • Ideally working towards or holding a Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (or equivalent).
