We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead a small purchasing team and focus on improving the supply chain. You will report to the Operations Director, with the opportunity to bring your ideas and make changes to improve the supply chain function. The role will involve purchasing subcontract services as well as electrical and electronic componentry, with daily use of the MRP system. The role will also involve: Raising purchase orders, and coordinating materials and services for production, basing selection on engineering and specifications, considering obsolescence, engineering changes and part revisions. Driving continuous improvement regarding price, quality, service, delivery performance, and lead times. Measure supplier performance, taking steps to ensure improvement, including reducing defective or unacceptable goods or services.The Candidate: Purchasing Manager The ideal candidate will have been in a similar position in an engineering environment, and will have most of the following skills and experience: Strong negotiation skills and a great communicator. A good understanding of the suppliers in electro-mechanical procurement. Ability to manage supplier relationships and performance. ERP/MRP experience
