Overview:

My client isseeking an experienced Site Manager to join a school development project in Surrey. The role involves managing and overseeing finishing works from post-first-fix through to final handover. You will ensure high-quality standards are maintained across all internal areas, including classrooms, student bedrooms, communal spaces, and catering facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take over from the main construction and first-fix stage, coordinating all finishing works
  • Manage and monitor subcontractors carrying out carpentry, decorating, flooring, ceiling, and final M&E finishes
  • Oversee installation of fixtures and fittings including doors, ironmongery, flooring, lighting, and furnishings
  • Inspect and snag completed areas, ensuring defects are logged, tracked, and closed out promptly
  • Work closely with the site manager, project manager, and trades to deliver on programme and to spec
  • Ensure health & safety compliance and maintain a clean, orderly working environment
  • Maintain a proactive approach to resolving site issues and delivering a high-quality finish throughout

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Finishing Manager or Internals Site Manager on similar school or residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction finishes and sequencing
  • Excellent eye for detail and ability to identify and manage snagging works
  • CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
