Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. The Mechanical Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all machinery operates smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve existing systems and processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Assist in the training of junior technicians and apprentices as required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines while performing duties.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field are preferred but not essential.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations is advantageous.
