Catering Assistant – Riverside Country Park Cafe Medway £12.44 Per Hour Casual Employment Medway Norse is one of the biggest joint ventures within Norse Group, partnering with Medway Council to deliver a growing number of frontline public services to residents. The business portfolio is including to develop as further services are provided across waste, building maintenance and countryside management. Provide general support to the catering staff on site by serving food & drink, using the computerized till system, preparing of food, and cleaning duties. Main Responsibilities Ensure the preparedness and cleanliness of the catering area for public use to the required standard. Prepare and serve refreshments to customers. Liaise the public in the catering areas and ensure that all Health & Safety guidelines and regulations are adhered to including licensing laws and food hygiene regulations. Assist with functions and parties and the preparation of food for such events. Take and reconcile money for food and drink Correct uniform must be worn at all times. Food Hygiene Regulations must be followed at all times Any defects or hazards must be reported immediately to the helpdesk Candidate Requirements: Basic knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety regulations within a catering environment Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate Previous experience within a catering, food preparation or dining environment Experience of food handling, stock control and rotation of stock Previous experience of till operation, cash handling and reconciliation Ability to provide an excellent customer service Good communication skills, both written and verbal Capable of working independently and as part of a team An enhanced DBS check will be required for our successful candidate, payment will be met by the employer.
