I’m hiring! On behalf of a leading international group in advanced materials and building solutions, I’m looking for a talented R&D Manager to lead their UK-based formulation and innovation team.
This is a key managerial role within a global organisation known for its cutting-edge approach to sustainable building envelope systems. You'll drive formulation strategy across high-performance sealants, coatings, and adhesives, and lead the UK R&D team in turning ideas into impactful products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the UK R&D team and oversee formulation development for sealants, coatings, adhesives, and specialty materials.
- Drive innovation from lab-scale to plant-scale: research, develop, and optimize new and existing formulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, supply chain, and marketing.
- Support raw material selection, supplier interaction, and quality assurance.
- Deliver technical leadership, mentor junior scientists, and contribute to strategic product development.
What We're Looking For:
- A degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field (MSc/PhD a plus).
- Experience in R&D within the sealants, coatings, or polymer-based materials industry.
- Exposure to silicone, STPE, epoxy, or hot-melt technologies is highly desirable.
- Strong project leadership, lab-to-line scale-up capability, and excellent cross-functional communication skills.
