The Role
As a Heavy Vehicle Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining critical assets. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting planned inspections, servicing, and overhauls on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Diagnosing faults and repairing braking, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
- Replacing and installing components such as motors, actuators, switchgear, and control panels.
- Following technical documentation and schematics to ensure high standards of maintenance.
- Completing condition checks, ensuring compliance with safety, safety standards, and quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate records and collaborating within a skilled engineering team.
This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with 12-hour shifts and regular overtime opportunities.
About You
This position is ideal for individuals with experience in heavy engineering or vehicle environments, such as HGVs, plant machinery, aerospace, industrial maintenance, or similar sectors.
You will need:
- Qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (Level 3 minimum)
- Strong knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Proven experience maintaining or overhauling heavy equipment or vehicles
- A reliable, safety-conscious attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work shifts and support operational needs
All candidates must complete pre-employment checks, including medical assessments, drug & alcohol screening, and DBS checks.
