Work in close partnership with colleagues across the organisation and the Technology Business Portfolio to manage technical project delivery within the agile delivery stream. The Junior Project Manager is required to deliver a variety of IT projects implementing new technical change across the Foundations estate. The project manager needs to be able to manage multiple project deliverables and communicate the status of IT projects in a clear and timely way.

The Junior Project Manager will assist in the management and control of the project budget on behalf of the project sponsor.

Responsible for: This role has no direct reports or line management responsibilities. The project manager will have responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities of resources across Technology and 3rd parties for project delivery.

Key Job Responsibilities:

The Junior Project Manager is required to deliver projects that are signed off by the Portfolio Stakeholders across multiple business areas.

The Junior Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Producing a Project Initiation/Feasibility Document (PID) to confirm project scope
  • Producing and maintaining a project plan for small scale projects
  • Facilitating risk workshops
  • Assistance in the management of risk through the project lifecycle
  • Overseeing the project financial tracking and purchasing
  • Managing changes in project scope, producing documented change control impact assessments
  • Reporting project status to the steering group
  • Arranging and facilitating steering group meetings, chaired by the project sponsor
  • Planning, organising and managing technical change implementations
  • Assisting with the producing transition documentation to hand over projects to the IT service team (BAU)
  • Requesting and organising project resources and team members to deliver project tasks and activities
  • Assist the Portfolio Manager in the overall delivery of the Technology Business Portfolio

Support to Technical Team:

  • Reminding the team of their commitment to the project goal
  • Helping the team to identify and resolve impediments
  • Providing feedback to the team, helping them to continually improve
  • Resolving blockers that stop the team from progressing
  • Facilitating conflict resolution and decision making
