This is an exciting time to be joining Renfrewshire Council. The Council is in the middle of an ambitious £40million 5-year roads infrastructure investment programme. We are expanding our Road Operations team in order to deliver on a wide range of priority infrastructure related projects across Renfrewshire.
We are looking to recruit a Foreperson (Roads), who is enthusiastic, with the skills and experience to deliver our ambitious agenda to provide maximum economic benefit for Renfrewshire. You will have a passion for providing high quality services to the public and driving service improvements and organisational change.
Based at Underwood Road Depot, Paisley, you will, as part of a team, undertake skilled operations, in the maintenance of roads, footways and drains, and work with plant and equipment and digital technology.
It is essential that you have a relevant appropriate qualification or evidence of professional competence and skill, experience in Highway Maintenance, certified relevant machinery and plant use qualifications.
You must have experience working within the operations service area, hold a Driving License Category C (LGV/HGV) and drivers CPC.
You must have effective communication, time management and interpersonal skills, be flexible in your approach to work, have knowledge of the operation of specialist plant/machinery used within roads maintenance and knowledge of the materials used within roads maintenance.
You will be required to participate in the Services Winter Maintenance and Summer standby service to ensure the Council has an effective response to weather conditions which will require you work throughout Renfrewshire, and you must have the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
