Salary: £30,000 per annum

About the Role

Sanctuary Supported Living, as part of the Torbay Growth in Action (GIA) Alliance, is recruiting a Peer Research Co-ordinator to lead a pioneering approach to community-led research. This role is central to ensuring that the voices of people with lived experience are heard, valued, and used to shape services across Torbay.

What is Peer Research?

Peer research is a method of conducting research led by individuals with lived experience. In the context of the GIA Alliance, this includes people who have experienced:

  • Housing insecurity
  • Substance use
  • Domestic abuse and/or sexual violence

Your Mission

As Peer Research Co-ordinator, you will:

  • Support and guide a team of peer researchers
  • Help them design and deliver meaningful research in their communities
  • Embed peer research practices across the alliance’s services

Why This Role Matters

This role is vital in helping the alliance:

  • Understand what services are doing well
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for peer researchers
  • Ensure that service users’ experiences directly inform service development

You don’t need to have lived experience yourself, but you must be committed to championing those who do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise peer researchers
  • Coordinate research activities and ensure safeguarding
  • Promote peer research across the alliance
  • Track engagement and report outcomes
  • Build partnerships and manage stakeholder relationships

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience supporting diverse client groups
  • Strong background in community engagement
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation
  • Leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to evaluate services and report findings
