Content Designer at Olive Jar Digital

Start date: 12 January 2026
End date: 5 April 2026
Location: Remote/Hybrid (as required)
Contract type: FTC
Sector: Public Sector

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Content Designer to support a high-impact project for a public sector client focused on improving teaching quality and strengthening pathways for teachers progressing toward Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You will work within a multidisciplinary team to clarify, improve and communicate changes to the Assessment Only (AO) route—ensuring guidance is clear, accessible and robust for teachers, training providers and schools. This work supports a wider mission to raise educational standards for all pupils, including those with SEND, and to remove barriers for high‑quality teachers seeking to gain QTS.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Presenting proposed changes to the 2‑school rule so the policy intent is clear while maintaining provider confidence in the robustness of the AO route.
  • Improving guidance for AO in SEND settings, ensuring providers fully understand expectations and assessment criteria.
  • Working closely with policy specialists, researchers and delivery teams to co‑design clear user‑centred content grounded in research and sector feedback.
  • Supporting schools, teacher training providers and wider stakeholders to understand updated criteria and guidance through clear, accessible content.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience as a Content Designer, ideally within government or public‑sector digital teams.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex policy or operational information into clear, user‑focused content.
  • Familiarity with GOV.UK style, content standards and accessibility requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with user researchers, policy teams and SMEs.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on meaningful, user‑centred projects in the public sector.
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture.
  • Flexible, hybrid working arrangements.
  • Professional development opportunities and access to industry best practice.
