Role: SEN Instructor

Location: Paignton

Salary: £115 – £140 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you a passionate and adaptable educator looking to make a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a SEN instructor to join a specialist education setting in Paignton on a temporary, full time basis. This role is ideal for someone with energy, enthusiasm and strong behaviour management skills, who can support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) through individualised learning and flexible teaching approaches.

About the role:

Working with small class sizes and with teaching assistant support, you will provide tailored learning experiences that help students overcome barriers to education. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging and adapted lessons across a range of subjects
  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies to support student engagement
  • Helping students develop essential academic, social and life skills
  • Creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment

About you:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant teaching experience and qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in ICT to support teaching and planning
  • Experience in inclusive education and knowledge of current curriculum developments
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to student welfare
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills
  • A positive, resilient attitude and the ability to motivate and inspire students
