CyTech HVAC Apprentice

Compensation: $14.00 – $21.30 / hour
Description
Our team is looking for a dedicated HVAC apprentice who is innovative, a team-oriented problem solver, loves helping others and is excited by career growth. Successful HVAC apprentices will be detail oriented, well organized and be able and willing to follow instructions.
The HVAC Apprentice will support senior HVAC technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The apprentice will learn the skills necessary to become a skilled HVAC technician through hands-on training and classroom education.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning and developing practical skills
- Participating in online classes, completing tests and assignments
- Assisting HVAC Field Technicians
- Keep safety precautions always implemented
- Install HVAC systems and related equipment based on application & design, per manager
- Wire both line and low voltage to heating and cooling equipment
- Install copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing
- Properly connect gas lines to heating equipment
- Install condensation lines to equipment
- Receive, verify, and load all equipment and materials needed for each job
- Demonstrate and establish effective working relationships with co-workers and superiors, including amicable working environments for all.
- Basic ability to read and/or interpret blueprints
- Light platform work (repair/replacement)
- Any other assigned duties as directed, to include but no limited to, all duties outlined
- Perform maintenance and repairs while delivering the highest standards of craftsmanship and cleanliness
- Through our best-in-class training, learn to take on more advanced projects
- Provide detailed record keeping and reporting for the benefit of customers and company operations
- Uphold the highest standards of safety for yourself, your teammates, and your customers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational training may be advantageous
- Willingness to learn on the job, go through training, and earn a qualification as a HVAC Technician
- Adept at using the basic tools of the trade
- Enrollment in an HVAC apprenticeship Interplay apprentice program
- Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Excellent communication skills
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces and lift heavy equipment
- Valid driver\’s license
- Pass drug, DMV and background check
