Our engineering teams, located in New Malden, UK , and Hamburg, Germany , work closely together to develop and maintain a wide range of navigation products, with an ambitious roadmap for future innovations.
We are currently seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our Engineering Department in New Malden. This role will play a key part in our radar sensor development team, focusing on firmware and embedded software development for maritime navigation systems.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Work in the Hardware team to develop firmware and embedded software on SoC platforms for new and existing products.
- To take ownership and responsibility for current and future design for developed SoC platforms going forwards.
- Collaborate closely with the Embedded Software and System Test teams during system integration activities.
- Maintain and improve FPGA development processes, workflows, and tools.
- Work autonomously in a focused, agile team, contributing high-quality results from the outset.
About You
Were looking for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a strong technical foundation. Ideal candidates will have:
- Deep understanding of System on Chip (SoC) based design and build environment.
- A prerequisite of HDL coding and test benching (VHDL, Verilog).
- Software languages, C (or C++) is preferable, additional languages considered useful.
- Knowledge of one or more of Bash, TCL, or Python
- Should be confident understanding and capturing requirements in order to develop solutions.Capable of creating technical documentation to a professional standard
- Experience with Vivado is required and Xilinx (AMD) preferred
- Familiarity with any other FPGA vendors' tools is a positive.
- Peripheral buses, I2C, SPI.
- AXI bus interconnect.
- Experience with memory interfaces, SDRAM and/or DDR.
- Asynchronous interfaces
- Experience with Linux operating systems
- TCP/IP, UTP, CAT240 (Asterix), Networking Protocols
- Knowledge of device tree and device drivers
- Familiarity with RF transceivers.
- Prior experience with radar systems.
