What You\’ll Be Doing
As a Junior Merchandiser, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the right products are in the right place at the right time and at the right price. You will support our merchandising team in maintaining efficient and profitable departmental trading while gaining practical experience with forecasting, supplier liaison, promotional planning, and category performance.
This is a brilliant stepping stone into a full Merchandiser role, with exposure to everything from sales analysis to stock management.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Monitoring and trading the department daily, identifying fast-sellers and managing under-performance
- Collaborating with Buyers and providing data-driven insights
- Creating seasonal planning documents and building WSSI and OTB tools
- Forecasting sales trends and stock cover to maximise profit and minimise markdown
- Supporting the delivery of new ranges and promotional plans
- Preparing trade reports and performance dashboards for the wider business
- Working closely with suppliers and distribution to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
- Keeping an eye on market trends and competitor activity to inform buying decisions
What We’re Looking For
You’ll already be working as an Assistant Merchandiser or a similar role and be eager to take the next step in your career. You thrive on data, love solving commercial problems, and are not afraid of a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
You’ll need:
- Experience with WSSI and solid Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups etc.)
- A strong commercial mindset with a good grasp of forecasting, stock control and sales performance
- Superb organisation and time management
- A proactive attitude and ability to adapt quickly to new challenges
- A collaborative working style able to work across buying, marketing, and operations
