Are you excited by the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Engineering and Operational functions by managing and overseeing permit-related processes? Do you have an Engineering background with experience working with Risk Assessments and Method Statements? We are seeking a Contractor and Permit Controller to join our team at the Port of Liverpool, and help us keep the world moving!
Your role
In this role you will issue permits for specific tasks, including reviewing applications, ensuring the correct paperwork is submitted, and ensuring the conditions of the permit are met. You will monitor ongoing activity to ensure all conditions of the permit are being adhered to, including verifying that work is carried out according to safety and environmental guidelines.
You will ensure permits are issued accurately and promptly, and are compliant with safety guidelines. You will adapt and modify permits when necessary to accommodate unforeseen changes in project scope. You will regularly monitor work sites to ensure compliance with the conditions outlined in the permit.
What you\’ll bring
You will have previous engineering experience alongside:
- Experience working with Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations, particularly DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER and COSHH
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with Permit to Work Management Systems & Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) systems
- Willing and able to work at height and in confined spaces
A full valid driving licence is required for this role.
