About the role

The Business Manager, Global Operations will be a strong leader, with a passion for driving change, and a deep appreciation for the dynamic world of air cargo.

They will support the Chief Network Operations Officer to lead our strategic evolution and operational reinvention by driving operational performance, compliance and project rollouts across all the global regions in which we operate.

You will be the architect of change, responsible for designing, leading, and executing company-wide transformation initiatives that enhance agility and efficiency whilst maintaining strong operational frameworks. You will work cross-functionally with senior leaders to align transformation efforts with our long-term strategic goals, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the air cargo industry.

What you’ll do

Strategic Leadership:

  • Work closely with the Chief Network Operations Officer to execute the strategy in alignment with the overall business objectives of IAG Cargo.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to drive change, including innovation in processes, tools, and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Leverage advanced analytics, business intelligence, and performance metrics to inform strategy, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.

Change Management and Innovation:

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and transformation, fostering engagement and alignment across your directorate.
  • Harness emerging technologies (e.g., AI, automation) to modernise global operations and create competitive advantage.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities, ensuring the global operational team are informed of market insights.

Programme Management:

  • Take the lead in driving forward cross-functional projects on time and to budget.
  • Plan, execute and evaluate global operational initiatives, also monitoring the performance of core business KPIs at each of our outstations.
  • Accountable for the transformation agenda for global operations.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, external partners, cross-functional teams including Hub operations teams, Regional Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Revenue Management, IT, Operations, Transformation and Customer Service to ensure buy-in and successful delivery of transformation initiatives.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about air cargo and wants to be at the helm of transformation in a fast-evolving, high-impact industry. We’re looking for someone with experience of managing multiple stakeholders at a senior level, using effective influencing and networking skills and confidence to manage complex relationships.
Experience:

  • Experience in a senior operational/ transformational role.
  • Evidence of identification of areas of improvement and provision of creative solutions in previous roles.
  • Track record of delivering sustainable and significant change and reducing complexity
  • Proven ability to deliver objectives on time and to budget.
  • Evidence of use of data to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively across functions, cultures and hierarchies.
  • Effective working with external and internal partners.

Skills:

  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders, using effective influencing, networking skills and confidence to manage complex relationships.
  • Proven experience in matrix management and the ability to form meaningful cross-functional relationships.
  • A strong leader with a track record of proactive decision making and delivery with exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using data analytics, business intelligence in decision making and data-driven strategy development.
  • Ability to design and implement strategy to articulate priorities, direction and focus using effective Project Management skills.
  • A passion for transformation with a curious mind.
  • Excellent communicator; both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and deliver multiple projects applying excellent decision-making skills and business judgement.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Translate technical or analytical content into clear, actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.
  • Develop and deliver high-impact presentations that clearly articulate complex ideas, strategic recommendations, and business outcomes.
