Job Description

SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: NG17, NottinghamshireDaily Rate: £85 – £95 per day Contract: Full time, term time onlyHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pmStart Date: September 2025

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the NG17 area to recruit a compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 from September.

This full-time, term-time only position is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in children's lives-supporting them both academically and emotionally. You'll be working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver personalised interventions, both 1:1 and in small groups.

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, including those with complex or SEMH needs
  • Understands how to adapt learning and use intervention strategies to support individual progress
  • Has excellent communication skills and can build strong, purposeful relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Is patient, consistent, and committed to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
  • Works effectively with colleagues and external agencies to implement and track individual plans
  • Has strong numeracy and literacy skills, and an understanding of the primary curriculum

Experience with interventions such as ELSA, or Drawing & Talking would be a real advantage-but not essential.
