The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 Β£ per year.
The Council is seeking to recruit a senior solicitor to join the in – house Legal team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a broad range of legal services to client departments in the fields of property, contract and environmental law and will have line management responsibility for a team of solicitors primarily engaged in that type of work. Day to day tasks will include research, the provision of advice, development of policy recommendations and transactional work within those disciplines. You would also be expected to sit as legal adviser on a variety of regulatory committees including the Licensing Board, Planning Committee and Local Review Body.
The role encompasses line management responsibility for staff and close working relationships with other senior solicitors within the team to ensure smooth and efficient handling of the wide and varied workload. It also entails deputising for the Chief Officer- Legal Servicesas circumstances require. Given the size of the service there is also an expectation that the successful candidate will occasionally assist in other areas of work within the job description as reasonably required by the Chief Legal Officer.

Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
