Why This Role Matters
The role will provide management and operational leadership to the President’s office. It will partner with the senior EMEA team (and equivalent roles globally) to drive key initiatives for the region.
The role takes responsibility, acting for the President, to roll out strands of the EMEA strategy, work with top clients, and – together with the Managing Director EMEA responsible for Continental Europe and Israel – be an ambassador for the region internally and externally.
How You\’ll Make an Impact
STRATEGIC
- Work with President and senior team to devise and roll out the UK strategy.
- Work with President and senior team to devise and roll out strategy for specific regions within EMEA (save for Continental Europe & Israel) as agreed with President.
- Contribute to overall EMEA strategy and ensuring specific countries and/or regional strategy aligns.
- Identify areas for growth, weaknesses, and future strategic initiatives.
- Take responsibility for various aspects of the strategy, reporting regularly to the President.
- Work closely with EMEA auction departments to ensure collaboration and overall smooth running.
- Use influencing skills to drive initiatives internally.
- Act as “go to” for issues arising in the specific regions, escalating to President where needed.
- Act as ambassador for EMEA and President’s office internally and externally.
- As a leader and conduit between various EMEA teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
- Drive and/or support external projects, EG. partnerships with art fairs.
- Work with President’s office to ensure tight financials for the region.
- Take a leadership role in Christie’s key pillars, EG, E,D&I.
- Drive Strategic Partnerships for EMEA to support key convening moments.
MANAGEMENT
- Manage selected key members of Client Management, EMEA.
- Manage groups within the EMEA teams, such as the President’s office.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders for the region and globally.
BUSINESS GETTING
- Responsible for driving client development and business getting with specific clients. Also to partner with other senior staff to drive wider client relationships.
- Participates in structuring and negotiating commercially viable deals with top clients.
What you’ll bring to the team
· Strong client, market and/or business knowledge; commercial flair with financial and business acumen.
· Excellent interpersonal skills – objective and independent, facilitator, diplomat, assertive, natural gravitas including high cultural sensitivity to navigate effectively and efficiently in a multi-cultural setting.
