Role Overview
Health & Safety Advisor – Minor Works Role
We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our Construction Safety Team to support the organisation in meeting its client responsibilities under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The role will provide professional safety advice and support to the Minor Works team.
You will support the Senior Health & Safety Advisor in monitoring contractor safety performance and compliance across all sites, undertaking due diligence checks, audits and site visits when required.
In this role you will provide competent advice and support to the Minor Works and wider Major Works teams, attend contractor meetings, and assist in the management and delivery of safety related projects.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the senior advisor in ensuring that L&Q meets its statutory duties as a Client under CDM 2015 and assist Minor Works in their application.
- Monitor and maintain safety related registers and trackers.
- Assist with collation and issue of pre-construction information.
- Conduct regular audits and due diligence checks to monitor safety performance of PC’s to fulfil our role as a Client.
- Provide advice and guidance to applicable teams on the requirements of the CDM health and safety file.
- Collate and report monthly monitoring and performance data received from our partners and external consultants.
Qualifications
- Be professionally competent with a minimum of NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate and be affiliated to an internationally recognised health and safety institute.
- Demonstrable construction knowledge, with an understanding of construction / maintenance terminology and processes, H&S legislation applicable to construction and / or M&E – Housing Sector experience will be advantageous.
- Good understanding and experience with Construction Design Management Regulations 2015 specifically on the Client side including undertaking contractor audits.
- Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines within a fast paced, target-driven environment.
- Fluent in Excel, PowerPoint and standard Microsoft programmes.
- Ability to clearly communicate messages/instructions.
- Ability to plan and manage workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to react quickly to ad hoc requests.
