Job Description:
About Sustrans
Sustrans is the charity making it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle.
We connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute.
The National Cycle Network is the people’s Network. It provides healthy, sustainable travel options for millions of people every year. It connects communities and benefits economies. And it opens doors to explore our incredible towns, cities and countryside.
Less than half of the 12,000 miles of the National Cycle Network are traffic-free. But traffic-free paths are key to achieving the Network’s full potential. These are unique and valued routes, separate from traffic and rich in nature. They provide benefits to people’s health, the environment, and communities. And we know that for Network users, building more traffic-free paths is a priority.
That’s why we’ve got ambitious plans to double the number of traffic-free miles on the Network.
We’re looking for inspiring and motivated individuals to help pave the way to more traffic-free paths.
About the role
You will be part of a team of passionate and well-informed fundraisers who will be out on the National Cycle Network helping raise our profile and inspiring new donors to help us make it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle.
Always working with others, we make sure you are given excellent training so that you are ready, confident and prepared to approach people on the Network.
As well as a great basic hourly rate, high-performing fundraisers can benefit from career progression and a competitive bonus scheme
About you
You will:
- be passionate and enthusiastic about the benefits of making it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle
- love talking to new people and have excellent communication skills
- be a great team player
- be resilient with a can-do attitude.
The locations where our fundraisers work are often in green spaces with nature around you. Having access to a bicycle to travel to the fundraising location is advantageous.
- Competitive basic pay (Real Living Wage) plus bonus scheme.
- Opportunities to grow your own team, gain line management experience and acquire valuable charity sector experience and sales skills for your CV.
- Excellent training, coaching and progression opportunities.
- Work outside, often surrounded by nature.
- Make friends for life while you get paid.
