Hunt\’s Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated Practice Manager to join our busy, forward-thinking first opinion small animal practice in Cheshire.

About the Role

As Practice Manager at Hunt\’s Veterinary Clinic, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our small animal practice. Working closely with the clinical leadership team, you will contribute to business development and lead initiatives for continuous improvement. This role provides opportunities to manage projects that shape the future of the practice while supporting the team to achieve excellent results.

You will be responsible for line managing the reception team, overseeing HR processes, and supporting financial and operational aspects. Strong organizational skills, a calm problem-solving approach, and the ability to foster positive relationships are essential. The role is mainly based at our Poynton branch, with occasional travel to other sites and management meetings.

Key Responsibilities

You will manage support functions, focusing on effective communication and team leadership. Responsibilities include overseeing reception staffing and training, managing cash handling, banking, debt collection, and insurance claims, conducting staff appraisals, ensuring employee relations, and compliance with policies. You will also coordinate premises maintenance, liaise with Head Office, support growth projects, promote safety, and address equipment or safety concerns.

Hunt\’s Veterinary Clinic has served small animal patients since 1966, becoming exclusively small animal in 1997. We are RCVS accredited with three branches in Poynton, Woodley, and Cheadle Hulme, ensuring high-quality care across all sites. Our team is known for a friendly, supportive atmosphere, with 7 veterinarians, 5 RVNs, 5 Client Care Team members, a VCA, and 2 support staff.

Working Hours

This full-time role involves 38 hours per week, with flexible options. No weekend or out-of-hours shifts are required.
