ABOUT THE PROGRAM As a Software Engineer in the Software Engineer Program (SEP) at JPMorganChase, you will embark on a global two-year career development journey. This program is designed to equip you with essential technical and professional skills, enabling you to build strong networks and establish a successful career with us. You will have opportunities for job growth, accelerated career advancement, and career mobility. Our program begins with an in-depth induction that introduces you to our businesses, enhances your understanding of development methodologies, and sharpens your professional skills. You will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that make a difference for our customers, clients, and employees. We will be filling our classes on a rolling basis. Job Responsibilities – Execute basic software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting – Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with peer guidance – Interpret architecture and design representations as well as nonfunctional requirements to develop secure, stable software against a defined architecture – Apply automation to reduce manual toil in the Software Development Life Cycle – Gather, analyze, and synthesize basic data sets to troubleshoot technical issues and generate insights for continuous improvements. – Breaks down routine technical tasks to troubleshoot and solve issues – Work and share ideas, information and innovation with our team of technologists from all over the world. – Participate in our Force for Good program to build real-world sustainable technology solutions for social good organizations. Required qualifications, capabilities and skills – Pursuing a Bachelors or Master\’s degree with expected graduation year of 2025 – You should have graduated and be available to start full time employment in February 2026 – A well-rounded academic background – Baseline knowledge of software, applications and technical processes within a given technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) – Ability to work effectively in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative culture. – Foundational knowledge of programming languages (e.g., React, Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, C#), databases, data structures and algorithms – Understanding of software skills including business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement. – Proficiency in developmental toolsets – Basic knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices – Exposure to agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
