In partnership with the Fostering Changes for Children Team, our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) accommodation aims to help Asylum Seekers, between the ages of 16-21, integrate into the local community.

About the role

In this role, you’ll lead engaging activities, build strong, supportive relationships, and help create a safe, welcoming environment where residents feel at home.

You’ll work closely with Project Workers to support young people in developing essential life skills, accessing education or employment, and preparing for independent living. From planning personalised sessions to accompanying residents to appointments, you’ll be a trusted guide, supporting their physical and emotional wellbeing every step of the way.

What we\’re looking for

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
  • Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and online databases.
  • Able to remain calm, focused, and solution-oriented in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays on a rota basis.

In accordance with safer recruitment processes many of the roles we recruit for require successful candidates to undertake an appropriate criminal record background check. If an offer of work is accepted, YMCA Trinity Group will facilitate these checks on behalf of our staff and volunteers via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Days and hours – You will be contracted to 20 hours per week; this will include weekend and evenings. Working pattern will be discussed at interview.

What we offer

Annual salary £12,698.40.
