Job Mission
As the Apparel Product Development Manager for Global Football, you will be responsible for leading the Development function in coordinating the end-to-end product commercialization cycle, ensuring product readiness, viability and integrity aligned to New Balance policy, process and practices.
Major Accountabilities
- Drive the conception, maintenance and governance of the Seasonal Creation Calendar in collaboration with the GBU and Sourcing counterparts, to ensure GTM achievements are calibrated with the global brand pathway and that Club partnerships are increased.
- Co-support (with HK Sourcing) of T1 and T2 vendor partnership collaboration to ensure long term and seasonal category projects are embedded, supported and aligned to calendar schedule parameters.
- Run the Material and Trim strategy, aligned to global palettes to ensure relevance and viability within the context of the Football athlete and fan.
- Drive adherence of the NB test and validation standards, with supplementary incorporation of Fit and Wear practices to strengthen proposition impact.
- Optimize Developmental touch points (Tech Pack Hand-Off, Proto Review, Commercialization) to ensure product excellence throughout the creation cycle.
- Key Tri-functional partnership with Design and Product Management counterparts to deliver against category ambition and seasonal strategies.
- Drive product performance metrics to embed a culture of responsible creation standards and category health across the functional counterparts.
- Incorporate seasonal Advanced Concept Lanes to ensure readiness against critical category silhouettes, materials and trims.
- Developmental ownership of attributed seasonal range projects to deliver buy-readiness status aligned to calendar schedule and New Balance quality standards.
- Preparation and management of technical product data to ensure effective facilitation of the development to production cycle.
- Construction, fit, materialization and trim expertise to guide creative decision making and production viability throughout the design and development phase.
- Accountable for running and maintaining the integrity of critical PLM data systems in-line with the seasonal calendar schedule.
- Management of quality risk in partnership with NB Quality teams, GBU counterparts and Vendor partners to actively facilitate remedial strategies.
- Awareness and active accordance to product legislation as it pertains to the commercial marketplace.
Requirements For Success
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Textiles, Apparel Merchandising or Business Administration.
- Relevant years of experience in a Product Development role.
- Experienced team leader and people manager.
- Project Management skills and ability to lead complex multi seasonal concepts.
- Collaborative and agile approach and can drive purposeful partnerships.
- Experience in handling/operating PLM product data system.
- Domestic and International travel .
- Strong digital skills including Microsoft Office.
