Job Title: Accounts Administrator Location: Central Bristol Salary: £26,000 – £32,000 Working Hours: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home after probation) Benefits: Fantastic benefits package, including sponsorship to complete AAT qualification Overview: I am currently recruiting for an Accounts Administrator for a well-established company in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in accounts within a supportive environment. Overall Objective: Reconcile insurer accounts monthly, ensuring settlement of agreed items according to the Terms of Business. Reconcile all bank accounts weekly. Maintain the company's purchase ledger and ensure timely settlement of agreed items in line with Terms of Business. Provide accurate and timely management information to Directors and Managers. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Daily posting of cash receipts, payments, and journals. Maintain and balance the cashbook, reconciling payments with unpaid invoice records, and completing daily banking for both Office and Client accounts. Ensure insurer accounts are reconciled monthly and settled within the agreed credit terms, addressing any anomalies promptly. Respond to all queries from insurers and colleagues in a timely manner. Assist with tasks across all Group Companies and gain understanding of each customer system. Ensure month-end routines are followed strictly. Provide assistance with general accounts department administration as directed by the manager. Assist with monthly client money calculations. Support Group Payroll processes as required. Process and confirm all instructions efficiently and promptly. Comply with relevant regulatory requirements and the company's procedures. Follow the Individual Conduct Rules as required Maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and suppliers. Undergo training to keep up-to-date with technical, legal, and market developments. Inform the manager of any issues outside your authority, experience, or that impact your ability to meet work objectives. Assist other staff members as reasonably requested by the manager or Directors. Knowledge/Understanding Required: Intermediate knowledge of the company's procedures and rules, as well as relevant regulation and compliance related to the job. IT Knowledge/Understanding Required: Proficiency with spreadsheets. Experience with accounting software relevant to the role. Knowledge of reconciliation processes for bank, client, and supplier accounts. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), and internet use. Skills Required: Ability to apply knowledge and understanding effectively in the role. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work well within a team. Ability to prioritize and organize your own workload. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines when required. Ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and work collaboratively.
