Job Title: Senior Delivery Engineer – Arista Spine & Leaf (Inside IR35)
Location: Ideally 1 day per week onsite in London
Contract Rate: £490 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Type: 6months + (likely extension)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Delivery Engineer with a strong background in Arista-based Spine and Leaf network architectures to join a fast-paced technology environment, supporting mission-critical infrastructure with a focus on low-latency and high-performance networking.
You will lead and support the deployment and integration of complex network solutions based on VXLAN and EVPN , with an emphasis on multicast routing and layer 2/3 switching . The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of capital markets/trading environments , where stability, scalability, and low-latency are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support Arista Spine & Leaf architectures across trading platforms.
- Deploy and manage VXLAN/EVPN overlays , ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Configure and troubleshoot multicast networking for Real Time data distribution.
- Deliver complex routing and switching configurations across data center and campus environments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (network architects, traders, systems engineers) to ensure seamless infrastructure delivery.
- Maintain documentation and provide detailed handovers to operations teams.
- Participate in change control, incident management, and root cause analysis processes.
Key Skills and Experience
Mandatory:
- Deep experience with Arista Networks , particularly Spine and Leaf architectures .
- Proficiency in VXLAN and EVPN configuration and troubleshooting.
- Strong multicast networking skills (PIM, IGMP, MSDP).
- High-level understanding and hands-on delivery of routing (BGP, OSPF, ISIS) and switching (L2/L3) .
- Background in capital markets or trading environments , understanding the criticality of low-latency and high-reliability infrastructure.
Desirable:
- Exposure to automation tools (Python, Ansible) is a plus.
- Experience with network telemetry and monitoring systems.
- Arista certification (eg, ACE) highly desirable.
Work Environment
- Hybrid: 1 day a week onsite in London , remainder remote.
- Dynamic , high-stakes setting within capital markets/trading environments.
