Description

FJA are working with a large water utilities company who are recruiting for experienced Leakage Technicians who will be responsible for day-to-day leak detection activities in the Bournemouth, Salisbury and Southampton area\’s.

Leakage Technicians must be proficient in the use of leakage detection equipment, including a correlator, pipe tracer, ground microphone and listening stick . Experience within Step Testing, Trunk Mains, Validation and Seepage would be desirable but not essential.

Excellent rates of pay!

Main responsibilities will be the following:

  • Undertake survey work/project work not normally associated with day-to-day leak detection.
  • Assist repair gangs by providing leak detection

  • To undertake a detailed survey to identify the type and location of water leakage on large diameter pipes.
  • Carry out adequate and accurate completion of all paperwork (including time sheets, survey forms, leak details) and other duties as required.
  • Performing a Step Test is one of the most effective ways of identifying high leakage within a water distribution network . It requires the establishment of zones of DMAs where water can be supplied though a single meter.
  • It is usually carried out at night since this is the time when consumption is lowest and most stable – it also means less disruption to consumers.
  • Possession of the following current certification would be advantageous but not essential:

  • EUSR Water Hygiene Training
  • Unit 2 Street Works
  • To be a Leakage Technician you are required to drive for the role and must hold a full and valid driving licence.
