Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.

With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

Job Advert Role Description

Westfield House is located in Rawmarsh, just outside of Rotherham. The service provides residential support for 22 males and females with mental health needs. It is situated in a suburban area, just off a main road.

We are looking for bank support workers to join our established team.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high-quality care and support will be your key strengths. You should have a friendly, patient, and positive approach to work. A keen willingness to learn and show compassion in caring for the people we support is essential.

You will support with daily activities, encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help individuals reach their potential through practical and emotional support, making a positive difference in their lives.

While previous experience in a similar role is ideal, it is not mandatory. We value individuals who demonstrate the right values and behaviors to make a difference. Full training will be provided, and there are numerous career pathways available, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and personal hygiene
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed linens
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of individuals
  • Providing assistance to attend medical appointments
  • Observing, monitoring, and recording physical and emotional well-being, and reporting any changes to senior staff
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
  • Empathy, understanding, and patience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
  • Proficient in verbal and written English
  • A healthcare qualification is desirable but not essential
