We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Planner within our Energy business unit for substation projects with National Grid

The role

This is an amazing opportunity to work as part of a fast growing business unit. The role will require the development of the framework programmes from cradle-grave and presenting to the client teams on a regular basis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop planning and scheduling on key aspects of the project, supporting the development of an integrated project schedule.
  • Work across key project interfaces with the delivery team. Working with the team to understand working constraints and integrate them into the schedule.
  • Cascade the programme to the workforce. Assist in disseminating program ownership to all tiers of the organisation, including use of visual techniques.
  • Represent the planning viewpoint in workshops and meetings both internal and external to the project team.
  • Assist in producing accurate progress updates.
  • Reflect change into the programme and advise on implications of change.

The experience we are looking for:

Previous experience working in a live project environment, preferably with National Grid Substation experience

Working knowledge of project planning. Familiar with using Primavera P6 software.

  • Working for key clients previously such as NG and SSEN
  • Experience working within a PMO for a large portfolio of projects.
  • Experience conducting programme risk workshops
  • Experience is using ARC GIS software.
  • Civil engineering, project controls or project management background

About our Energy business

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
