Description

FJA are working with a large water utilities company who are recruiting for experienced Leakage Technicians who will be responsible for day-to-day leak detection activities. Leakage Technicians must be proficient in the use of leakage detection equipment, including a correlator, pipe tracer, ground microphone and listening stick. Experience within Step Testing, Trunk Mains, Validation and Seepage would be desirable but not essential. Excellent rates of pay! Main responsibilities will be the following: Undertake survey work/project work not normally associated with day-to-day leak detection. Assist repair gangs by providing leak detection Undertake survey work/project work not normally associated with day-to-day leak detection. To undertake a detailed survey to identify the type and location of water leakage on large diameter pipes. Carry out adequate and accurate completion of all paperwork (including time sheets, survey forms, leak details) and other duties as required. Performing a Step Testis one of the most effective ways of identifying high leakage within a water distribution network. It requires the establishment of zones of DMAs where water can be supplied though a single meter. It is usually carried out at night since this is the time when consumption is lowest and most stable – it also means less disruption to consumers. Possession of the following current certification would be advantageous but not essential: EUSR Water Hygiene Training Unit 2 Street Works To be a Leakage Technician you are required to drive for the role and must hold a full and valid driving licence.
