About the Role
Barnet and Southgate College is seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineering Workshop Technician to provide specialist technical support across our Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with students, academic staff, and external clients, ensuring the smooth operation of workshop facilities and enhancing practical learning experiences.
As part of our technician team, you will contribute to practical engineering services, including manufacturing, fabrication, and equipment maintenance. You should be experienced in machining, welding, and assembly techniques.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the operation of mechanical workshops, including CNC and conventional machining, fabrication, and assembly.
- Assist in manufacturing and fabrication for projects and practical classes.
- Maintain and test equipment regularly.
- Procure materials and maintain inventory.
- Ensure safety standards and conduct risk assessments.
