We are currently seeking a Technical Liaison Engineer to join our team in Manchester, UK . This critical role will focus on providing expedient engineering support to our customers daily, including repair design, analysis, calculations, and certification.

Important: This is an on-site position in Manchester, and only those who have the right to work in the United Kingdom will be considered.

Position Summary & Essential Functions

As a Technical Liaison Engineer , your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing liaison engineering support for structural repairs, including repair design, analysis, calculations, drawings, and certification.
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of FARs, SBs, ADs , and Advisory Circulars .
  • Communicating effectively both orally and in writing with internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural Analysis : Perform structural analysis to substantiate aircraft repairs, both major and minor.
  • Repair Schemes : Develop repair schemes, including drawings or sketches, and supporting analysis/calculations for FAA and CAA approval.
  • OEM Technical Data : Utilize OEM technical data such as Engineering Drawings, Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, and Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.
  • Customer Communication : Engage directly with customers to understand their needs, timelines, and deliverables. Follow up on the implementation of proposed repair schemes and revise as necessary to facilitate repair work.
  • Material & Process Optimization : Determine alternate materials and processes to ensure that design requirements, weight optimization, safety, and reliability standards are met.
  • Engineering Status Updates : Provide progress updates on work for the manager and the customer base.

Educational Background & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Aviation-related background or Mechanical Engineering experience preferred.
  • Previous engineering experience in the aviation industry is desired, with an emphasis on airline support , structural repairs , MRO/Liaison/MRB Engineering , etc.

General Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Experience in structural analysis and substantiating aircraft repairs.
  • Proficiency in preparing structural damage reports for submission to OEMs or STC holders.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable FARs and related regulations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills .
  • Ability to effectively communicate directly with customers to develop solutions and manage expectations.

Nature of Work

  • On-site at the STS Hangar in Manchester, UK.
  • Provide timely engineering support for line and check aircraft .
  • Develop, review, and implement repair schemes , including sketches and supporting calculations.
  • Work directly with customers throughout the development of structural repairs and modifications.
